"He Moʻolelo o ke Kūpaʻa: A Story of Resilience"
Day of Remembrance: Legacy of King Kamehameha V
King Kamehameha V, Lot Kapuaiwa, established the Royal Order of Kamehameha on April 11, 1865, to protect Hawaiian sovereignty and culture amidst foreign pressures. This strategic initiative united leaders to uphold Hawaiian values and ensure the kingdom's autonomy.
Join us at Huliheʻe Palace every April 11th for a vivid re-enactment of this historical moment, performed by Hale Mua's Cultural Group with the Daughters of Hawai'i. Witness the legacy that strengthened a nation and inspired its people.
Starting January 2025, we are auditioning for roles including Kamehameha V and his Privy Council. If interested in participating in this cultural tribute, please contact Hale Mua via email.
Mark your calendar and experience a piece of Hawaiian history brought to life each year.
